Protections For Ohio Consumers

The Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act was written to help consumers when a supplier acts unfair, deceptive or unconscionable. The act defines a consumer as “a person who engages in a consumer transaction with a supplier.” A supplier is defined as “a seller, lessor, assignor, franchisor or other person engaged in the business of effecting or soliciting consumer transactions whether or not the person deals directly with the consumer.”

There are many examples of actions that suppliers have taken that Courts have deemed violated the terms of the Ohio Consumer Sales Practices Act. If you feel that you have been the victim of unfair or deceptive acts or practices in relation to a mortgage transaction, car purchase, home remodel or other consumer transaction, schedule your free consultation with a Willis Spangler Starling attorney to help you determine what remedies are available to you.
